because Democrats, even the jellyfish among them, are not in a caving sort of mood, not after last Tiesday confirmaed the fact that America by and large isn't buiying that Republican pack of lies about the shutdown.

"Aw, go ahead and tun that story. It's worked in the past, the American people are really stupid, they'll buy it again."

It's why I knew the NYT was nothing but fishwrap 50 years ago.
