I think there needs to be a mutiny among the Dem Senators who know how to lead in these times. One of those is van Hollen - he is creative and fearless. He demonstrates conviction. That is what is needed as the minority leader.
There are some other Dems who don't get as much attention as they deserve. One of those is Chris Murphy - put him in front of the camera more often. He is a fabulous communicator and explainer. He is genuine. He doesn't rattle off the pablum of pre-canned platitudinal talking points. He also recognizes the urgency of the moment. He has been saying (all year) that our fist priority has to be saving Democracy. (P.S. My choice for 2028, but right now saving Democracy is my focus.)
Sheldon Whitehouse doesn't get as much attention as is warranted. He is great explainer. His speeches on the floor illuminating to corruption in govt and SCOTUS are must watch. He has data and charts.
We have had a couple of recent events that created momentum and opened the door for a paradigm shift. The Cory Booker 25 hour marathon speech was one, and last Tuesdays election was another.
And yet leadership let the opportunity slip away.
I feel that Chuck is putting us all at risk. IMHO, he doesn't have the self awareness to realize it.
The Dems in DC are supposed to represent us, and we pay their salaries. And they constantly hit us up for donations. So I think we have a right to criticize their job performance.
Folks on DU are livid tonight, with good reason. Many are calling offices in DC.
With all due respect Senator Schumer, please listen to the people. Respectfully, we deserve the leader who can meet this moment.
