They would have kept their congressional healthcare and pensions either way. The only thing different is the donor money. Remember Carville complaining about losing the donor money if dems supported Bernie and the squad? That's the Clinton era blue dog democrats. The donors don't like the fact that Mamdani won in the city that big dem donors saw as the US cultural and finance headquarters. The donors are afraid of the message sent by the election victories when they should be afraid of getting the Mangione Robinson treatment. Either they're not seeing that the numbers demonstrated by the NoKings protests, and the recent election victories are evidence that the public is against the MAGA Republican policies, or they think that they've already won and it's more important to reopen the government now before everything goes to shit, and win later and then fix medical insurance and other problems.
