(3,396 posts)No matter how long we left the Gov shutdown the ACA extension was never going to get a vote and approval. The only thing it was doing at this point was causing people to suffer. It was never going to lead to peoples insurance being cheaper. So while the Gov was shutdown republicans could point at the Democrats and say that we were the reason that there was no vote. Now, the repubs will have to make their own move and they alone will be the ones that will reap the rewards of what they do. They will not vote for the extension and peoples healthcare will skyrocket and that is the same as what would have happened if the shutdown continued.
It amazes me how people on this site are ince again blaming Democrats for something the republicans are doing.
