for Charles, I sincerely doubt he ever used it. And it seems highly disrespectful to use a nickname he never did.

Let's see, I had an aunt whose name was Margaret, but known to her nieces and nephews as "Aunt Gaggie." So I guess I can call Margaret Thatcher "Gaggie."
