17. I know people who have no money for food right now

And family members who have not been paid for over a month.

If you are not hungry and if you can put money together for basics, then I guess you can take a strong position against this deal. There are others who cannot because they have no buffer.

We are dealing with an oligarchy fighting ruthlessly for the status quo. They do not care about the rest of us. They do not care about the sick or the hungry or the vulnerable. They can cause the government to remain closed indefinitely.

At some point we would have had to make some sort of deal. Our power is to win as many battles as possible now to preserve as much of our government as we can, and expose these people. As more and more of us wake up, collectively we will kick them to the curb this coming November.

What is the purpose of weakening our democratic members of Congress, who know the nature of this beast, for being practical in their decisions? The oligarchs do not want healthcare for all -- they want total privatization and will hold out indefinitely for it.
