The Dems who voted for reopening had their own reasons because as Democrats we don't always march in the same direction. The 'herding of cats' description of the Democratic Party is pretty accurate, IMHO. We come to table with different voices and opinions and attitudes. That does not make us traitors; it makes us independent thinkers.
Just for the record, I was hoping for another week or two of pushing back, sticking a thumb into Republican eyes because I'm obstinate and hate giving up. But . . .
I truly do not think the result would have been any different beyond a lot of Americans suffering. Trump and his lackeys simply DO NOT CARE.
This was a single battle; it didn't go our way. Last Tuesday night, however, a lot of things went our way.
We still have a war in front of us. We need to be ready because a reckoning is definitely coming.
