GOP's ACA math does not add up [View all]

Trump over the weekend talked about giving money to consumers instead of subsidies.

The math does not add up.

Not all Americans get their insurance through the ACA marketplace; some get it through work.

The Congressional Budget Office estimated that in 2023, health insurers received approximately $92 billion in ACA subsidies. That would not come close to covering most Americans’ health care expenses — in 2023, Americans shelled out $500 billion just on out-of-pocket costs.

Some of the millionaires in Congress do not need health insurance.
Therefore, they have no understanding about high cost of premiums.
Or healthcare insurer sending "Treatment Denied" letters.

I was first diagnosed with lymphoma in 1990.
I am in my third remission.
My doctor is recommending that I continue maintenance treatments of a drug.
The treatments cost $1 million dollars a year.
I will see if my healthcare insurer will pay for any more treatments past Dec. 19th.
