Propaganda that is meant to keep you uninformed for your comfort.

I have a friend who can't take the stress of paying attention to politics, she doesn't understand enough to follow the arguments and feels that political discussion is only fighting and cross words, can't deal with it. She only voted for the orange ogre because her son told her to. I hope she's changed her mind at this point, I have tried to steer her toward understanding how politics affect her and why she should reconsider her vote. She's so wigged out about the WH destruction that she's not able to discuss it.

I think there are a lot of folks out there that are in this mindset. I hope some are reachable because they do vote. This one's a nine year project already but we have a rule, we don't talk politics and on issues of import we maintain an 'agree to disagree' policy and it works for us, we're friends and neither of us have many of those these days... and she's Mikey's mom. I do my best to covertly educate her, sometimes it seems to work even if she won't admit it, even to herself.

Her news intake is CNN and fux but I think she's bailed on fux so this has impact in rural areas. Shame on the media for joining in the coup attempts to come.
