They believe that he was murdered, but they don't want to say it out loud because if they are right, the family would be in the same danger. And right now they have some safety in just trickling out a few tidbits.Ultimately, I think they are trying to force Trump's hand to get this material out in public. They probably figure that is the best way to learn the truth about Jeffrey's death without putting themselves on the spot.

We make lots of jokes about Putin's close friends stumbling out of top floor windows. But we have the same kind of history here.
