There was a huge sex abuse scandal that happened in my area bout 25 years ago. I stopped attending church because of that sex abuse scandal, because I was disgusted at how the church handled their sex abuse.

My mom kept on gaslighting herself about the abuse case. That it didn't happen, and I was simply "lying" and listening to "Apostate lies"

Literal verifiable evidence about how this religion hid sex abuse, and my mom didn't believe it. A smoking gun, and she still thought of me as an evil "heretic".

The cult is real, and I don't think even this will break them.
