(14,142 posts)I don't agree that the alerter is analogous to a prosecuting attorney. A prosecuting attorney is not a part of the judging body but is analogous to programming that displays information and analysis of preexisting conditions . The alerter is part of the judging body. The alerter being one of the whole of the constituents of DU is a good point but it does not uphold your point of view. The administrators and their system they program choose the jurors, the alerter is a member of the constituency that has made an accusation, but the whole of the rest of DU has not done so; they are a null point. It's the job of the administration and their programming to decide who is added to the voice of the alerter to make a judgment. Whether DU in general agrees or does not agree is not in the equation.
Therefore the comparison to our legal system is not completely applicable. My point stands.
