When when worked planting in the greenhouse, we would listen to the local NPR station, when it was broadcasting national programs, which was intermittent throughout the day. Most of the time we resorted to Ted-talk podcasts. It made me realize how different rural PA was from metropolitan Philadelphia, where it broadcast current events 24-hours a day and how the people in “Pennsyl-tucky” didn’t seem to support, know or care what programs they were missing. Some would describe PA as Philadelphia on one side of the state and Pittsburgh on the other, with Alabama in the middle.
