Are you going to try for citizenship as well? I know some countries allow that.

I obtained permanent residency about 3 1/2 here in South Korea. If I were to get my level of Korean high enough I could apply for citizenship. One of my co-workers who also has permanent residency applied and said that to get citizenship you have to salute the flag and and refused based on his own beliefs. Most likely I won't apply because I don't think it's necessary.
