I've served three terms. Seeing the belly of the beasts from the inside (so to speak) is an education. DUers should all volunteer. The MIRTeam are all great people. Actually, they are amazing.
Unfortunately, connectivity in the Manistee National Forest isn't very good. No cable TV. No broadband INet. Just shitty download limited cellular network.
If things improve, I'll sign up again. It really makes DU a better place. If you've never volunteered for MIRT, you have no idea how hard they work.
