Trump now claims that 1/6 was actually about protecting the integrity of the election. Sorry if I caused you to choke.
Following is from the notes of the acting DAG of a phone call between him/others and Trump on December 27, 2020.

"Just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen."

How in the world can he twist those words into him being the good guy trying to restore the integrity of the 2020 election. At another point Trump blasted those on the phone for not following the internet closely like he does because if they did they would know what he knows.. Earth to Trump, the internet tells you what you want to hear. If you want to hear that the election was corrupt just go to the internet as there is no shortage of material saying that - the only problem is that none of it is based on fact. Indeed it probably written by some 400 pound guy sitting on the edge of his bed somewhere in St. Petersburg. Russia.
