I have no doubt Trump and Johnson collaborated on this. But after all the lies, misdirection and outright fraud Trump and his thralls have committed in this cover up, this might backfire too. The fury and flop sweat on Trump tells me he is getting desperate and terrified. Every day he is blurting out crazy theories and pathetic distractions that hold no water. Wouldn't it be great if he had a Tell Tale Heart confession on Live TV?
This will be interesting. Trump would ordinarily have no trouble throwing Johnson under the bus (or the steamroller), but he needs Jesus Junkie Johnson for the evangelicals who are getting nervous and quiet. It is hard to find Biblical passages telling people to vote for and support an unrepentant pedophile. Trump today labeled those asking for more information as losers and traitors to MAGA and told them to "get out" of his cult because he "doesn't need them." If he grants an exception to Mike Johnson, he looks like TACO Trump again and he hated that. If he demands Johnson be replaced as speaker he could totally fracture his crazed party. Even if Trump finally tells Blondi to release some heavily redacted and abbreviated bullshit that totally exonerates him, I doubt all his base will fall in line. We'll have to see how that falls out.
