she was all over TV and her marriage to Burt Reynolds kept her in the spotlight. She was one of the group of "pin up" stars during that time (along with Farrah Fawcett, Suzanne Somers, Cheryl Tiegs, Cheryl Ladd, etc).
Sorry to see this, condolences to her family, and R.I.P.
(as a sidenote, that show always made me want to visit the city and I did in fact get there for work stuff in the late '80s - and one of my sisters ended up moving out there not far from the city, so I was there all the time, and even walked over a bridge to Covington, KY 
)
