Two were domestic trips and one international. Despite a recent new photograph on my driver’s license, the TSA software could not match my face to my ID and I had to step aside and wait for a human to come and quickly see that I matched the ID. The international issue might have been caused by an older passport photo since mine expired this year, but passports are good for 10 years and people do change in that amount of time. I’ve read that the facial recognition programs consistently misidentify black and brown people, but I’m white and I now carry my passport even for domestic trips. I don’t think facial recognition is quite ready for prime time.
