The next time Adams wanted a story with a particular slant they could pressure the journalist, threatening to expose the previous bribe.

I have no doubt that an accomplice filmed the journalist taking the bag of potato chips.

It's still pathetic and poorly done, though. Not clever. Just stupid and criminal.
