true representation is found on a globe and how mercator projections altered reality big time, the further away from the equator towards the poles.

It also shows why on maps showing the flight path of airlines across the oceans, why they sometimes show a curved path, known as the Great Circle right? if I am remembering correctly. LOL It's been a few years ago I learned that, and the mis-representation is probably not taught in the schools anymore....(if they even have geography classes anymore)
