Just TX.

9th grade is a year of geography, and it's threaded through previous years' curricula.

Back in the '70s in MD I was taught Mercator distorted things--closer to the pole = more exaggerated. Just look at Antarctica. Or Greenland.

And, yes, Great Circles. The shortest distance on a globe, seen from the equator.
