In 2024, Texas generated 169,442 gigawatt-hours (GWh) from wind and utility-scale solar, leading the nation. Specifically, Texas produced 124,936 GWh of wind energy and 44,506 GWh of solar energy in that year. This amount significantly surpasses California, the runner-up, which generated 92,316 GWh from these sources. More than 25% of what they use. Hmm.
