They have already slashed through the federal government and they will continue to do so whether there is a C.R. or not.

What ends up happening is that they "declare" certain services "exempt" because they deal with "for emergencies/public health" etc., and will cherry-pick other things deemed "required to work", and thus few actually "feel" the effects of a true shutdown and destruction of what they derisively call "the bureaucracy". People REALLY don't know how much glue is needed to hold this country together and they may be about to find out... once it is gone.
