In the 2024 presidential election, counties in southern Minnesota largely voted for Republican candidate Donald Trump, although some urban areas in the region voted for Democrat Kamala Harris. Overall, Harris won the state of Minnesota, but Trump saw a shift toward Republican voting in many counties.
