...over the past 5 years. Started out as a customer. One of the first times I was in his shop, I was admiring a rug new to his collection. He was writing a description of it, and was puzzling over what to call the predominant shade of red in the design. I said that it looked like pomegranate seeds. He immediately decided to use that term, and explained that pomegranate juice was one of the natural substances used to dye the yarns from which some rugs are woven.

He has since often asked for my ideas on what color names to use in his write ups, which I find very flattering. I have the giant size box of Crayola crayons and a big box of their colored pencils that I take with me to his shop when he calls on me to help choose color names. It's an entertaining challenge, and something totally different from my long peds NP career.
