Newsom has already established himself as a guiding light and at this point, the party’s leader. Following the election the party suffered from a huge leadership vacuum and he did a great job taking the mantle.

He has hit back in a way others have not managed. Partly it was due to his teams brilliant use of social media and the way he parodies Trump, but mainly it’s because he’s consistent and hasn’t held back. As slick as he may look, he feels more authentic as a politician than many others. Not sure if he’s my number one pick (another CA pol may be a tough sell for the country), but I’ve been increasingly impressed. He’s my governor, and he’s fought back a ridiculous recall effort and spearheaded prop 50, two of his major wins since I moved here
