House committee reviewing ethics complaint against Georgia Republican Mike Collins, top aide [View all]

The House Committee on Ethics is reviewing a complaint against Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) and his chief of staff Brandon Phillips. In brief notices published Friday, the committee announced that it would come to decisions regarding the complaint against the Georgia Republican and his top aide by Jan. 5, 2026.

The notices show the committee has “extended the matter” of considering the complaint, which “does not itself indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on behalf of the Committee.” Notices of extension are required to be published by law. The committee’s review of the complaint against the two men were not public until the notices were posted.

“This bogus referral is nothing but a desperate and baseless attack by Rep. Collins’ political opponents,” a Collins spokesperson told The Atlanta-Journal Constitution. “We look forward to the Ethics Committee completing its work and this frivolous complaint being dismissed.”

The nature of the complaint against Collins and Phillips has not been disclosed.
Collins and Phillips did not respond to The Hill’s request for comment.
