Even Google admits it's not necessarily accurate...

Google AI Overviews are not generally accurate, and users should be skeptical of their output. While they can provide quick answers for simple questions, they are prone to inaccuracies like misinterpreting queries, oversimplifying complex topics, and presenting false information as fact, sometimes with harmful results. Experts recommend using them as a starting point and verifying information with traditional, credible sources, as the AI may summarize biased or inaccurate content from the web.


That same Google search page offers numerous independent confirmation sources, all of which agreed with the AI Overview.
