I just drove across 2/3 of the continent and the one bird I saw most, though they were airborne so I couldn't tell which kind, were vultures... everywhere. In places I had never seen them before. I saw one bald eagle. On a normal journey I usually see several. I know the smoke is not good for them, I was in the plume for three days, it followed me to the coast.

There are too many species disappearing of late and we are already in deep shit for it. I say, brace for impact.
