3. The Guadalupe River bed is limestone not mud/sand

It’s like a concrete ditch - water is not absorbed very well.

The river runs through what we call “the hill country” - not mountains but high hills.

Additionally, the Guadalupe River elevation at its headwater in Hunt, Tx is approx 1722 ft. The elevation at Victoria, Tx (almost the end before the Gulf) is approx 28 ft.
