I grew up in a house that my parents only were able to buy due to an inheritance that covered the down payment. It ended years of rental instability. (The entire house cost 50K in the middle 1970s, I was a kid and don't know any details).
Several other relatives also were able to buy only due to small inheritances.

Those other than the Trumps of the world can have huge life improvements due to small inheritances. Don't discount the good this can do for those at the less than 95%ile of income and wealth in this country.
