So much wrong with all of it. The amount of time spent normalizing this abuse is frightening. I once called a judge near me who had given a six year sentence to a child raper. He asked me if I thought it was too long or short. After a gasp I said certainly too short. He explained that the raper was a family member and the family wanted a lenient sentence. I told him his job was to protect the child and if we don’t who will adding that his next victim might not be a family member and that family might think otherwise of this short sentence. He thanked me for the input and told me to call anytime. Initially I had left a message with his office. I was shocked when he called me back!
