My generic answer is yes, ya know a watched pot does not boil because you watch it. Nor does an employee succeed or fail (quickly) in an assigned task with a supervisor constantly “checking.”

But it does bring to mind one of my many favorite George Carlins,

If you plan to fail and you succeed, what are you?
