23. My first thought on reading this was the scene from Boys in the Boat with the US team arriving in Germany .

As they left their ship and drove to their hotel, they were greeted with Nazis and Nazi flags all along the street. It was absolutely chilling. I can imagine something similar—and just as sinister—with the streets leading into Olympic venues lined with masked stormtroopers and Trump MAGA flags.

Given the nastiness of ICE and border control agents, I wonder how many people will refuse to attend. Imagine spending a lit of money on airplane tickets and Olympic events and then being refused entry to the because you criticized Trump or Vance on some social media app. Why take the risk?

Of course, by 2028 Trump may be well into dementia and unable to be shown in public.
