In “Fiasco” (about Iraq) by long time WaPo Pentagon reporter Thomas Ricks points out that the brass sees POTUS’s as temps. They’ll only be there 4 or 8 years and the (formerly 🙄 ) DoD will go on.

I’ve noticed that there’s rarely any brass around or behind Trump. The Chair of the Joint Chiefs was in the Oval for the name change announcement but other than that it’s rare. We know what Trump thinks of the military and I’m sure it’s mutual. BTW - as a former Cav Scout, Trump is a f’ing draft dodging POS and needs to get the sabers off his AI Chicago invasion fake poster.
