5. At school and even at camp, "great" literature was considered educational

And it's not even modern stuff, Shakespeare has been considered iconic for centuries. And The "classics" we read were not new at the time, let alone now. It makes no sense to me that after all these years that what was previously considered great literature is now "offensive." Life can often be offensive and that is something that everyone needs to learn to deal with or they're in for one big shock.
