13. People - normal people - go through stages of cognitive development.

As a child, you assume and question nothing.
There are few rules, and those that are applied to you can be bent or ignored.

As you get older, you become aware of the world around you, the rules that govern your behaviour, what is right and what is wrong, so you can fit into civilized society. Maybe even develop a moral compass and an internal dialog to guide your behavior.

Only as you get much older, do the neural pathways that make you who you grew up to be, weaken and decline.

You get confused, you mix facts, you make stuff up. And people start calling you senile.

Trump though, skipped a few steps along the way.

He was always a word salad type of guy, now he is losing the memory fact base he used to toss the salad previously.

But yeah, talk about defending the airports, preventing WW2, defeating Obama, whatever.

Unfortunately the inclination to delude, deceive and misdirect people fades the last in senile dementia.
