A one-to-two shows per night contract can yields dozens of millions of dollars, far in excess of what ticket sales alone would yield, because prospective concert goers would like drink heavily and stay afterward to gamble. Las Vegas is a well-oiled machine for separating fools from their money quite efficiently.
