Question for San Franciscoins, or frequent visitors... [View all]

Sparked by the GD thread, but not about that area.

I went to SF amongst other places in '79 on a cross country trip. Had a great visit.
Almost positive I stopped in Golden Gate Park bc I love parks; plus there were 2 art museums (pretty sure they were both art museums) there.

One was then hosting Tukenkhoman's gigantic exhibition which I'd already seen back in NYC. The other pretty near by was having "5,000 Years of Korean Art". A quite lovely exhibit which bc of King Tut may have had less visitors than usual. It made viewing the exhibit very easy!

I can't say much else bc I lost the majority of my travel slides including the GGP slides, The Palace of Fine Arts... Sigh. I have the most critical ones, but still. 😑

So does anyone remember there being 2 art museums in GGP, or one Art Museum, and another near by that even if it wasn't an Art Museum would have hosted the King Tut exhibit anyway?
Tia!
