9. To retire and live where I called home

When we were young we had goals we wanted to accomplish and as the reality of life took hold we modified our goals. I really didn’t have any goals in life when I was in my teens and in my early 20s I realized working at K-Mart in a non-management position wasn’t going to get me far so I joined the AF. After a year in the AF I knew I was in for the long haul and would.retire after 20 years but ended up serving 28 years before retiring. Early in my AF career, I set a goal of retiring in my home of Coronado, Ca and I did it. I saved and invested my money and inheriting some money from my parents after they died, I was able to buy a condo which I have now lived in since 2004.
