"Mabel" might be a niece of Stupid Flanders.
I remember a couple years ago there was a story arc about Zoe's new friend who was being raised by her grandmother.
She dressed like an old lady, would say things like "land 'o Goshen!" and collected aluminum foil. Kirkman and Scott had fun with that for a week or so.
I'm a fanatic on comic strips, even doing a 5th grade book report on the legendary Charles Addams.
