40. Hubby's hearing aids

Mr. Stubborn was very nearly deaf but didn't want to spend money on hearing aids. He was getting withdrawn since he couldn't hear people unless we nearly screamed at him. In desperation, knowing I'd never get him to an audiologist, I went on Amazon and got him a couple of hearing amplifiers for about $250. He was dubious but I'd spent money so he figured he might as well try them ...
The smile that spread over his face was and is priceless! One ear was not helped, it was profoundly deaf, but the other ear! - he could hear footsteps, water running, cars passing on the street, and I didn't have to holler and yell to be heard! We could have normal convos again! He came out of that shell in record time!
I still get tears in my eyes when I recall that smile!
