The music was a lot of fun.

Many of his concerts were exercises in patience, Sly leaving his band and his audience waiting and waiting for him to maybe eventually show up.

Now he is, in more than one sense, the Late Sly Stone.

RIP

(at least, in those days, ticket prices were reasonable)
