Great green globs of greasy, grimy gopher guts,
Mutilated monkey meat.
Dirty little birdie feet.
French fried eyeballs rolling down a dirty street,
And me without my spoon.

The remarkable thing is how these "forbidden" songs spread among children across the country without the internet. You didn't hear them on TV or radio and were not allowed to sing them in the presence of adults. Yet from Savanah to Spokane, the lyrics were pretty much the same - with some variations.

My theory has been that kids in military families, post-WW-2 mobility, summer camps, and family reunions accelerated the process.
