- but, as you have shown, a city as large as NYC has a multiplicity of styles of pizza. Also, I believe, NYC and the boroughs have concentrations of ethnic populations from around the world. Many of these have their own unique variations of what a pizza is. Feeling adventurous? Take a little road trip around the world of NYC. As an aside: when I served in the USN, native NYCers invariably referred to the Big Apple as "The World". As in, "I can't wait for my enlistment to be up and get back to the World."
