We started after Labor Day, though it made no difference as it was [View all]We had a country fair that lasted thru Labor Day. It was a huge event, and It was the highlight of everyones summer. There was no way the school system could start earlier. Most kids would be AWOL with their parents blessing. So the day after Labor Day was the start of the school year. They made up for it in June.
