It's not the hottest place I've been. I was part of a group that transferred our AF Air Transportable Hospital from George AFB at Victorville, Ca. to Luke AFB outside Phoenix, Az. It was in the middle of summer and the temperature was 115 degrees. We showed our counterparts at Luke how setup, run, teardown, and pack the field hospital. This included digging ditches to bury electrical cables. During the hard physical labor, we had 15 minute work and 45 minute rest cycles because of the heat. The other NCO from my shop and I were used to working outside in the heat so we reversed the cycle and worked 45 minutes and rested for 15 minutes.

That was nearly 45 years ago when I was in my early 30s but today, no way I'd want to stay out in 100 plus heat for more than a few minutes. I'll keep my mid-70s temperatures, thank you.
