7. I kind of envy you libing in Germany

I was stationed in Germany twice; once in the 80s and once in the 90s, and I love it. I was in the countryside fairly far from a large city but I loved the cleanliness, the weather, the food, and the people. Even when I visited cities like Frankfurt or Cologne I felt safe and welcomed. The only problem for me to live in Germany is lack of being able to speak or read German. I tried learning German while I was there but my proficiency in the language was on par with a four year old. But I did learn that if I tried speaking to Germans in their language they'd start speaking English to me.
