1. There's a crystal inside the opening illuminated by the sun's rays.

A few minutes after this picture was taken, the angle of the sunlight on the crystal was just right to operate a secret mechanism. This happens only once a year. The mechanism opens a trapdoor on the floor, which will swallow up any tourist who is unlucky enough to be standing over it. Nobody knows what happens after that, because the tourists are never seen again.
